Luxurious, flowering, immense!  All this is about the Vorontsov’s park, which lies in Alupka town at the foot of Ai-Petri mountain. It was laid there in 1820. Today, about 200 species of trees and bushes grow in the picturesque territory decorating the majestic palace of Count Vorontsov.  And there are colorful flower beds with fragrant flowers.

The park in Alupka was laid in 1820, a few years before the construction of the estate of Count Mikhail Vorontsov.
The picturesque garden was organized under the supervision of the famous German gardener Karl Kebach. Today it is not just a decoration of the palace, but a historical landmark of the art of gardening.
The palace itself was built in 1828-1848. English, neo-Mauritan and Gothic styles merged in its architecture.
The palace is built of diabase (magmatic rock), due to which it was nicknamed the diabasical world wonder.
In the territory of the park − about 40 hectares − there are almost 200 trees and bushes. There you can find cypresses, pine trees, strawberry field, plane trees, oleander...
The park becomes especially colorful in the spring, when the flowers bloom − the alluring beauty of nature.
You can admire roses of different colors and forms even now.
They exhale fragrance, filling the South Coast air with delicate and unsurpassed aromas.
And you can also enjoy colorful violets...
... and forget-me-nots − graceful blue flowers.
Purple cascades of wisteria, decorating the walls of the famous palace, please the eyes.
Walking in the park, you can view the southern façade of the palace, in the design of which elements of oriental architecture are expressed.
The “lion” terrace leads to the southern façade. Three pairs of lion sculptures are installed on it: sleeping, waking up (in the photo) and awake lions.
Lions from white marble for many decades have been “guarding” the Count's palace, being one of its symbols.
From there, after walking along the winding paths, you can go down to the sea.
And admire not only nature, but also various fountains along the way. For example, in the place where the tea house stands.
Part of the park resembles a cascade of green “waves” of plants there, which look as if “running away” down to the sea.
From the park you can get into the courtyard of the Vorontsov’s Palace with entrances from several sides.
The Vorontsov’s estate is comfortably lying at the foot of Ai-Petri Mountain. The tops of the plateau are clearly visible from the yard and lower part of the park.
Every year, thousands of tourists come to Alupka for a walk in the palace and park.
And everyone tries to capture on the photo the fascinating beauty there.
