The temple is in Alupka. Its building is an object of cultural heritage of Russia. The Temple of the Holy Archangel Michael was built in the shape of a cross in the Russian-Byzantine style and is crowned with five cupolas. Its construction began in 1903, but it went with great interruptions and the temple accepted the first parishioners only in 1908.
The sacred place has a rich history. It was badly damaged during the earthquake in 1927, and in the Soviet period it was completely ruined: the cupolas were removed from it, the interior was destroyed and the outhouses were added. The temple was returned to believers only after 60 years − in 1990. A year later, the first service was held there. Restoration was completed in 2008. Nowadays services are held regularly in the temple.
