It is specified that the facade, roof and interiors of the Panorama will be restored, the foundation of the building will be strengthened, a security video surveillance system will be installed, fire and security alarm systems will be updated, the territory will be landscaped, etc.
For the duration of the renovation, the exhibits presented in the permanent exhibition of the panorama will be returned to the storage. Some of them will be shown as part of temporary and traveling exhibitions of the Museum. In Sevastopol, the exhibits can be seen in the retro-cinema hall. In addition, some of the items will be presented in Volgograd at the Battle of Stalingrad Museum and Reserve at an exhibition dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the start of the Crimean (Eastern) War.

"After the restoration works of the Panorama building are completed, it is planned to hold a re-exposition in the exhibition halls. As part of the reconstruction of the Historical Boulevard, the building of the Roubaud-Totleben building is being erected on the site of the former cinema pavilion. These new long-awaited exhibition areas will allow visitors to get acquainted with both exhibits that are well known to them, and with unique items from the museum's storerooms," the press service reported.

The building of the 'Defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855' Panorama was built in 1905. Thematic exhibits, portraits and personal belongings of participants in the 349-day defense, lithographs with views of the city and battle scenes, sketches by the artist Franz Roubaud are exhibited on its first floor. On the second floor there is an observation deck from which you can see the huge canvas in detail. The panorama depicts the day the Sevastopol defenders repulsed the assault on the Malakhov Hill and the Korabelnaya (shipbuilding) Side of the Sevastopol Bay.
