Interactive sites will work for guests, the press service of the Bakhchisaray Historical, Cultural and Archaeological Museum and Reserve reported.
So, visitors will be shown the camp of the Russian army on the eve of the Alma battle, which took place on September 8, 1854 at the mouth of the Alma River (500 meters from the village of Vilino) and is considered the first big field battle of the Crimean War on the territory of the peninsula.
"We will tell about the daily ration of a Russian soldier on march and in a camp, teach drill and rifle exercises, show weapons and a soldier’s uniform that everyone can try on. Also, visitors will learn about the use of artillery in the battle of the Alma, types of ammunition, effective firing distances, use of field and naval artillery," they said in the press service.
How was first aid provided during the Crimean War? How did the famous doctors Nikolai Pirogov, Christian Gubbenet and sisters of mercy, work? Tourists will also be told about this.
Photo zones and a souvenir shop will be organized.
On the territory of the memorial there is a Virgin Nativity chapel, burial places of those killed in the Alma battle and several monuments, including a 10-meter obelisk made of white Inkerman limestone and a monument to the soldiers and officers of the Vladimir infantry regiment, which distinguished itself in the battle. There is also a monument-sarcophagus to seven British officers of the 23rd Welsh Fusiliers and other objects.
