"According to the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic, for 8 months of 2021 the tourist flow to Crimea exceeded the record for the entire post-Soviet period of 2019 by 24%, reaching 7.2 million by the end of the summer, while for the entire 2019 in Crimea, 7.4 million tourists", said the Head of the Republic of Crimea.

Most of the guests (62%) arrived on the peninsula crossing the Crimean bridge by cars and buses. Another 30% of travelers chose air travel, 8% arrived by trains.

In general, over 5.2 million people have spent their vacations in Crimea this summer. This is 1.5 times more than in the summer of 2020, and 15% more than the same period in 2019.

In August, more than a thousand accommodation facilities with a total capacity of more than 155 thousand beds received guests. Average occupancy rate exceeded 82%, in some regions it was 90-95%.

Sergei Aksyonov noted that, despite the record-breaking indicators of the season, hotels and health resorts worked without serious violations, preventing new outbreaks of the coronavirus infection, in compliance with the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Consumer Protection Authority).

"On my instructions, the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic will continue to monitor tourism facilities in order to control the ordered restrictions, including mask mandate, social distancing, disinfection measures to ensure a safe recreation," the Head of the Republic of Crimea said. "This year, the tourism industry is entering the autumn tourist phase ready for high demand both in hotels, health resorts and at tourist facilities, confirming the strategic task of developing Crimea as a year-round resort region".
