"According to the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea, for 7 months of 2021 the tourist flow to Crimea amounted to 5 million 67 thousand people, which is 27% higher than in the same period in 2019. 60% of the total tourist flow in January-July 2021 arrived across the Crimean bridge by cars and buses, 32% by air, 8% by rail," S. Aksyonov wrote.

Sergei Aksyonov also noted that only in June and July the region received more than 3 million tourists, which is twice more than in the same period of 2020, and 13% more than in the same period of 2019.

Last month, over a thousand of Crimean hotels and health resorts with a total capacity of more than 155 thousand beds accommodated guests. The average occupancy of accommodation facilities exceeded 82%, in some places it was more than 90-95%. For comparison, in 2019 occupancy rate was 76% on average

The Head of the Republic of Crimea added that he had ordered that intensified daily monitoring of all accommodation and tourist facilities by the Minister of Resorts and Tourism Vadim Volchenko, by his Ministry and regional administrations to be continued in August.

"First of all, these are inspection trips to monitor compliance with the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Consumer Protection Authority since June 1, 2020 and those inspections have already shown their effectiveness. At the moment, no serious violations and outbreaks of a new coronavirus infection in hotels and resorts have occurred thanks to the well-coordinated and serious work of the tourism industry and authorities. Nevertheless, monitoring will be strengthened. The safety of our guests and residents of the Republic remains the most important issue this season,” Sergei Aksyonov stressed.

Besides, the vaccination of employees of hotels and health resorts continues, in a number of accommodation facilities it has exceeded 60%, and in some of them it is already 100% of the staff.
