There are objective difficulties associated with the consequences of the weather calamities in Greater Yalta and Kerch, but they can be solved in a short time. More details about the situation − in our material.

How hotels and resorts work

Hotels, sanatoriums, resorts in the regions affected by the bad weather work normally, no mass booking cancellations have been recorded in the Yalta municipality and other regions of the Republic of Crimea.

Steady feedback has been established with all accommodation facilities in Greater Yalta. The management of the hotels promptly informs the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea if any difficulties appear.

Some accommodation facilities experienced a temporary blackout. The problem is solved with power generators. There were also recorded cases of water shutdown. However, all resorts and hotels have their reserves:  emergency reservoirs for 2-3 days for constant water supply. So there are no dangerous situations in the region at the moment.

As a result of downpours, 13 accommodation facilities were flooded. In two of them the situation turned out to be the most serious. In one of them it became necessary to partially relocate the guests. Everything was done promptly in a regular mode with the support of the staff members of the Ministry of Resorts of Crimea, who are in Yalta these days.

Transport operations

There are no restrictions on entry to Yalta and transit travel. Cleaning activities continue in the center of the ‘resort capital’ of Crimea. Motorists are asked to refrain from driving to the central and historical part of the city. The Yalta authorities have warned that parked vehicles that are obstacles for the cleaning machines will be evacuated to the territory of the cargo port (Otradnoyeh village, Drazhinsky street, 2). To return the evacuated car, owners have to contact the traffic police by phone 102 to obtain documents for the return. A vehicle passport, a certificate of registration and an identity document are necessary for this.

Gradually, the work of public transport is being restored in Greater Yalta. Some buses go their routes as usual, others go by the temporary traffic scheme. You can find out which routes have been restored on the website of the Yalta administration.

The weather calamity that hit Crimea did not affect the work of air and rail transport:  Simferopol airport and railway stations continue to function as usual.

What about the beaches

At present, due to the consequences of the downpour, it is forbidden to swim in the coastal waters of Yalta.

As a result of the water flow, some of the local beaches were damaged. In total, according to the Ministry of Resorts, of 86 beaches prepared in Yalta for this season, 18 are still being cleaned and repaired, all the rest are already brought to a standard conditiion.

An interdepartmental commission began to assess the scope of work for the restoration and readiness of the beaches to receive Crimeans and guests of the region. It included representatives of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Consumer Protection Authority), the State Inspection for Small Vessels, the Ministry of Resorts and the local administrations.

It is expected that after surveying the beaches within a few days, they will begin functioning in full and as usual.

What about excursion destinations

Some excursion sites in Greater Yalta have suspended reception of visitors. As explained in the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, this is necessary to maintain the proper temperature regime in order to preserve museum exhibits.

So, until June 23 inclusive, all landmarks of the Crimean Literary and Art Museum-Reserve are closed:  the Chekhov House-Museum in Yalta, the Chekhov and Crimea department at the Omür dacha, Chekhov and Knipper Dacha in Gurzuf, the Pushkin Museum in Gurzuf.

In addition, until June 23, reception of visitors at the Livadia, Massandra and Vorontsov palaces has been suspended.

Massandra Winery is open and works normally. But excursions and tastings at the head plant (Massandra, 9 Vinodela Yegorova Str.) and in Alupka (26 Dvortsovoe shosseh) are temporarily closed. Massandra promises to inform additionally on the reopening of the tasting complex.

Tourists and Crimeans wishing to visit excursion sites are advised to check the information about their working hours on the official websites of those institutions.
