In particular, the Minister stressed that the peninsula has been a traditional health resort for the treatment and rehabilitation of respiratory diseases since tsarist times. And not only respiratory: the health resorts and medicinal centers of the region specialize in the treatment of a number of other ailments.

"In general, our region has a substantial medical and health-improving basis, and this is exactly what is now needed for the country against the background of the pandemic. In Crimea there is a large number of comfortable and modern hotels and health resorts of different price categories offering high-quality programs of rehabilitation and health improvement, including newly developed ones," the minister said.

The real wealth of Crimea is its cultural and historical heritage. These are famous palaces, and architectural landmarks, and cave towns of ancient civilizations, and natural attractions that are available for visiting all year round, Vadim Volchenko said.

The Head of the Ministry of Resorts also mentioned comfort and safety as unconditional advantages of the Crimean vacations. All this combined makes the peninsula such a popular holiday destination among Russians.

"In Crimea, all conditions have been created for a comfortable and safe vacations in the home country.  This is especially true now under the odds of pandemic. Vacations in Crimea are comfortable, calm and unique in their incredible versatility. This year many tourists have made certain of this and this is what we were striving for, and what we talked about repeatedly," Vadim Volchenko summed up.
