During the holidays there were more than a thousand regular flights arrivals and departures. The peak of the passenger traffic during this New Year period was recorded on January 3, when 11,221 people were serviced by the airport.

"Flights to Simferopol for these New Year holidays were in great demand. This testifies to the popularity of Crimea, as well as the demand for air transportation as the most comfortable and safe transport. During the New Year holidays, measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 were strengthened at the Simferopol airport," said Evgeny Plaksin, Director-General of the Simferopol International Airport LLC.

The most popular flight destinations are Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don and Sochi. In total, during the New Year holidays, 11 airlines organized flights to Crimea from 11 cities.  Additional flights to Simferopol and back were made from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa and Cherepovets.
