This year pilots from Pereslavl-Zalesskiy, Moscow region, Krasnodar Territory, Byelgorod, Voronezh, St. Petersburg will take part in the festival. All of them are professionals in their field. The main criterion for the participants is a flight time record of at least 500 hours, − the President of the Federation of Aeronautical Sports of the Republic of Crimea Denis Volodin told the Crimea Travel Portal.
Holiday program
The festival starts on September 18th with morning flights. The pilots will take off their balloons into the air at 06:00 a.m. It will be possible to see the carnival of colors in the autumn sky of Crimea until 09:00 a.m. After that guests are invited to go in for "ground" extreme − to conquer the rock by a jeep, horse or ATV. The second day of the event promises to be the most spectacular.
On September 19 balloons will again take off to the sky those who wish to a flight on board. Morning flights will be from 06:00 to 09:00 a.m. And in the evening, at 07:00 p.m., a glaring gift will be presented to the guests of the holiday: 15 participating balloons will line up at the foot of the cliff and glow. This show will be truly fabulous, the organizers promise. In addition, night surprises will be prepared for the guests of the festival − a laser show with a projection directly onto the White Rock and fireworks.
The next two days of the festival, September 20 and 21, there will also be morning flights from 06:00 to 09:00 a.m.
How to take part in it
Anyone can see, take dizzying pictures with one of the Crimea's calling cards − the White Rock − and with balloons in the background. Admission to the Balloon Festival is free.
But those who want to ride into the sky, should care for this in advance, since the days and hours of flights have already been scheduled until September 21, Denis Volodin notes. According to him, in order to get on board of a balloon, you need to call at: +7 (978) 0392639 or send an SMS with the date, name and number of people.
"All pilots are experienced. Only those with a flight time record of at least 500 hours are allowed to our festival. There will be no young pilots, because we fly over mountainous and rugged terrain, where the flights require peculiar skills. When you fly near a cliff, it is still cold on one side of the cliff − thermal stream has not started yet, but on the other side and above − it is in full swing, and each pilot must have experience in flying in such conditions to ensure safety", — explained the organizer.
