According to the press service of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, the first tourist sea route was developed after the unique sailing regatta Golden Ring of the Bosporus Kingdom, which opened the 2019 summer holiday season in the South of Russia.

The Sails of the Bosporus route lasts 5-8 days. It goes through the resorts places and territories where ancient policies once were: Gelendzhik (Torik), Anapa (Gorgippia), Kerch (Panticapaeum — the capital of the Bosporan Kingdom), Yalta, Balaklava (Symbolon), Sevastopol (Chersonesos Taurike). The route length is 200 nautical miles (about 360 kilometres).

The organizers of the route prepared all the necessary information for tourists: where to book a tour or charter a yacht, moorage places (ports and marinas) and their coordinates, contacts and communication channels of all local rescue and other services, the nearest hotels and restaurants.

And as it was noted at the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism — "A particular feature of the route is the possibility to combine the romance of the sea travel with exciting excursions to the places of ancient history in the South of Russia. The trip includes night crossing voyages and passage under the Crimean Bridge. In each port of call there are unique monuments and museums of the ancient era, which are included in the inter-regional tourism project the Golden Ring of the Bosporus Kingdom".

The organizers also provided for the gastronomic programme of the route. Tourists will be offered to get acquainted with the "Bosporus menu".

As the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea Vadim Volchenko said, the ancient heritage of Russia is a worldwide asset, and the development of a new route becomes for Crimea a breakthrough in the international recognition and drawing attention of the foreign tourists.

"Thanks to the new tourist route, we connected Crimea and the Kuban by sea, opening the way for organized tourist groups as well as for individual tourists. Development of yacht tourism is a priority for Crimea. These are new opportunities and a global impetus to the development of tourism in our regions as a whole. And, of course, always a striking event for every tourist will be the passage on a ship under the acres of the Crimean Bridge — this is an unforgettable sight", — the minister emphasized.
