"The results of the resort season of 2018 have been summed up. Over the past year, 6,800,000 tourists have spent their vacation Crimea, which is a record number over all post-Soviet years. The level of 2017 was exceeded by 28 percent," Aksyonov wrote on Instagram.
He added that over 190,000 tourists spent New Year holidays in Crimea, surpassing the figures of 2017 by 40 percent.
Aksyonov also said that direct tax revenues from the tourism industry to the budget of Crimea almost doubled.
