More than a hundred species of birds inhabit the territory, including the rare migratory species of birds. So the park of international importance was created to preserve and protect wetlands for those rare species.

The regional natural park near the village of Kalinovka occupies twelve thousand hectares of the Prisivash lowland and stretches to the waters of the Sivash Bay.
