The Crimean Nature Reserve sprawls across the central part of main ridge of the Crimean Mountains from Yalta in the west to Alushta in the east. It is home to over 2,500 species of plants and fungi and 250 species of animals. One of the most popular sightseeing routes, Primeval Crimea, runs through the nature reserve along the Romanov motor road that was built over 100 years ago. Other attractions include the Museum of Nature, an arboretum and a zoo located near the entrance to the nature reserve.
