This medieval fortress is located near the Chelter-Koba cave monastery. It is a cultural landmark of federal significance. It is believed to have been founded by the Byzantines in the 6th-11th centuries. The fortress was destroyed by Turks in the 15th century. Its ruins include 92-metre-long defensive walls and a castle tower that probably accommodated a chapel.
