A religious educational institution built in 1500, according to the inscription above the entrance. Before the Soviet time, it was the largest centre of Muslim religious education in Crimea. The name Zyndzhyrly (the Tatar for "chain") is due to the iron chain hanging on the gate symbolising that no one can enter the temple of knowledge without bowing to the wisdom of Allah.
Today, the madrasa is part of the Bakhchisarai Historical and Cultural Reserve and is open to the public by appointment.
