The Khan's Palace, a unique example of 16th century Crimean Tatar architecture, is part of the Bakhchisarai Historical and Cultural Reserve. It is essentially a city within a city with its own mosques, mausoleums, baths, splendid frescoes and fine decoration work. It was the official residence of Crimean khans. The Big Khan Mosque and the Sary-Gyuzel Baths built in 1532 are the oldest buildings on the territory of the palace.
