Malakhov Kurgan is a site of military glory related to the events that took place during the first defence of Sevastopol in the Crimean War and during World War II, in 1942. The museum complex includes a defence turret, a memorial sign on the site where Admiral Nakhimov was fatally injured, several monuments, the 17th Senyavin Battery and a memorial on the site where Matyukhin Battery was located.
