Citizens of the Russian Federation need only the internal passport to enter the Republic of Crimea. No special documents or visas are required.
Underage Russian citizens only need to produce their birth certificates. If a child is accompanied by a third party, a consent from one of the parents is required.

Russian citizens are advised to take with them their obligatory medical insurance, which is effective throughout Crimea. Any denial of medical aid on the grounds that the obligatory medical insurance was issued outside Crimea is unlawful.

Foreign nationals can visit Crimea in accordance with the general regulations on entrance to the Russian Federation or on the basis of a valid temporary residence permit.
